Dr. Kaku completed his Orthodontic residency at the University of California, San Francisco in 1990. He obtained his Orthodontic Certificate and MSD degree from Boston University in 1993.He is an instructor at the Japanese Academy of Non-Extraction Orthodontics and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Japanese Orthodontic Society and the Japanese Association of Adult Orthodontics.  Dr Kaku has been an invited Speaker at the Japanese Association of Orthodontists, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Napoli, University of the Pacific and Mahidol University, (Bangkok, Thailand).  He has won the Joseph E. Johnson Table Clinic Award for Non-extraction treatment in the Asian face using the Coordinated Arch Development Technique at the 102nd Annual Session of American Association of Orthodontist in Philadelphia, 2002. Additionally, he published over 40 articles and lectured worldwide. He currently maintains a Private Practice (SuperSmile International Orthodontic Office) in Ohyamacho Shibuya Tokyo, Japan.
