Intraoral scanners have wide applications in restorative dentistry. Today, they are used in virtually all diagnostic and therapeutic dental procedures such as (multiple) restorations, implants, splints, and aligners.
The introduction of new techniques and software options have made the iTero Element intraoral scanner more than just an impression machine. It is now possible to carry out caries diagnosis within the framework of a scan. The scanner also allows monitoring tooth movements, abrasions, ground facets or recessions by superimposing scans taken at different times.
In pediatric dentistry, this opens new possibilities both in diagnostics and therapeutics; caries can be detected much earlier and without harmful X-ray radiation, while in communication with parents and small patients.
In this webinar, Dr Baresel & Dr (Prof) Zhao will discuss the importance of behavioral management in pediatric patients and how the digital tools can make the treatment experience comfortable in pediatric patients.
